Karen S.

Karen S. has extensive experience in government relations, education, and communications. Currently serving as the Assistant Vice President for Government Relations at the College of Southern Maryland since April 2001, Karen S. is responsible for developing public relations strategies and nurturing relationships with stakeholders to enhance the college's reputation. In addition, Karen S. has worked as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor, teaching various communication courses, and has contributed to workforce development programs. Prior experiences include roles at Grace Lutheran Church & School, DCI Publishing, Charles County Government, and The Maryland Independent, where responsibilities encompassed public relations, editorial management, and community communication. Karen S. holds a Master's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Stevenson University and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations from The Ohio State University.
