James McCoy

James McCoy is the current Vice President of Academic Affairs at College of Southern Nevada. James has previously worked as an Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs at the same college from January 2016 to May 2020. Prior to that, they served as an Associate Vice President, Academic Success at the College of Southern Nevada from July 2012 to January 2016. From July 2007 to July 2012, they were a Professor & Department Chair at the college. James started working at the College of Southern Nevada as an Instructor & Lead Faculty in July 2003 and served in that role until June 2007. Prior to that, they worked as a Speech Instructor at College of the Sequoias from August 2001 to May 2003 and Fresno City College from August 2000 to December 2002.

James McCoy has a doctorate in community college leadership from Ferris State University, a masters of arts in communication from California State University, Fresno, a bachelor of arts in speech communication from California State University, Fresno, and an associate of arts in speech communication from College of the Sequoias.

James McCoy reports to Federico Zaragoza, President. A direct report to James McCoy is and Sylvia McLean - Vice President of Academic Affairs. James McCoy works with Juanita Chrysanthou - VP, Student Affairs, Sonya Pearson - Campus VP & Provost-Charleston, and Richard Kravchak - Dean, School of Arts & Letters.
