Valerie Hecht

Valerie Hecht is an accomplished educator specializing in Spanish language and Latin American studies, currently serving as an instructor and director at the College of Southern Nevada since August 2012. Valerie has a diverse teaching background, having instructed at the University of California, Davis, and Solano Community College, where courses included beginner Spanish and Spanish for heritage speakers. Experience also includes teaching at St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School and Florence-Carlton High School, covering various levels of Spanish while actively engaging in curriculum development and student advising. Valerie's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of California, Davis, and a master's degree from California State University-Sacramento, along with undergraduate studies in Spanish from the University of Montana and Whitman College.
