Sylvia Torti

Sylvia Torti currently serves as the President of the College of the Atlantic, a position held since July 2024. Prior to this role, Sylvia Torti was employed at the University of Utah from January 2012 to July 2024, where responsibilities included serving as Presidential Honors Professor and Dean of the Honors College, focusing on curriculum development, strategic planning, budgeting, staff management, and fundraising. Between 2009 and 2011, Sylvia Torti directed the development of a new interdisciplinary field center for the University of Utah on the Colorado Plateau. Sylvia Torti holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Utah (1993-1998) and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Earlham College (1987-1992).
