Chief Scott Jenkins has had an impressive and varied career in law enforcement. Scott began their career with the Denton Police Department in 1986, where they served for 30 years in various roles including police manager, Denton Repeat Offender Program supervisor, and task force officer. In 2012, they joined the United States Marshall Service as a task force officer, and in 2014 they became a member of the Cyber Crime Task Force for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. In 2016, they left law enforcement to become the Director of Security for Gateway Church. Scott returned to law enforcement in 2017 when they were appointed Collin Chief of Police at Collin College.

Scott Jenkins has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas. Scott also has a Criminal Justice - Administrative Officer's Course from the University of Louisville. In addition, they are certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety as a Personal Protection Officer, the International Association of Crime Analysts as a Crime Mapping and Analysis Course Instructor, the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Cyber Investigative Techniques & Resources Instructor, the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division as an Internet Crimes Against Children - Undercover Investigations Instructor, US Youth Soccer as a National Coaching License Instructor, Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service as an Advanced Police Driving Instructor, Texas Commission on Law Enforcement as a Police Instructor, and United States Soccer Federation as a Soccer Referee - North Texas.
