David Johnston

David is a retired President and CEO for the Canadian Association for Pharmacy Distribution Management (CAPDM). In this role, he led the organization's core mandate of ensuring a safe, secure, and efficient pharmacy supply chain that is an integral part of the Canadian healthcare system and ensures that all Canadians have access to their vital medications.

Prior to CAPDM, David's career began as a research scientist before joining the pharmaceutical industry in a variety of progressively senior sales and marketing leadership positions. This was followed by the role of VP Community and Donor Programs with the Heart and Stroke Foundation where he led fundraising initiatives across Canada and managed 23 regional offices with a team of over 20,000 dedicated volunteers.

David served 9 years on the Foundation Board of St Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto where he chaired the Marketing Committee and the Community Engagement Committee, was on the Board of the Ontario Association of Community Care Access Centres and served on several provincial, federal, and industry healthcare system advisory groups across the country.
