Vel Angamuthu has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Currently, they are employed as the IT Director at Collins Electrical since 2019. Prior to this role, they served as the Principal at Globus Technology Inc. for twelve years from 2007 to 2019. Additionally, they held positions as a Senior IT Consultant at Vic's Crane & heavy Haul, Inc. from 2014 to 2015, a Senior Project Management Consultant at University of Minnesota from 2011 to 2013, a Graduate Business Alumni Board Member at University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business from 2007 to 2013, a Senior Project Management Consultant at Regis Corporation in 2011, a Senior Project Manager Consultant at Ecolab Inc. from 2009 to 2010, a Senior Project Manager Consultant at University of Minnesota from 2007 to 2009, and an IT Manager at Target Corporation from 2004 to 2007. Vel began their career as the Director of Application Development at Harris Information Technology Services (formerly Netco Government Services) from 2001 to 2003.

Vel Angamuthu completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli from 1984 to 1988. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from North Dakota State University, which they completed from 1990 to 1992. Later on, they pursued an MBA in General Management from the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business from 2001 to 2003.
