Sara Esmeralda Gómez Romero has extensive experience in public health, specializing in epidemiology and zoonotic diseases. Currently serving as a Consultant for Endemoepidemic Diseases at the Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social de Colombia since March 2019, Sara has previously held significant roles at the Instituto Nacional de Salud de Colombia, where responsibilities included leading a team for vector-borne diseases and serving as a national reference for dengue, malaria, and leishmaniasis. Prior to this, Sara worked as a Bacteriologist at Hospital San Rafael Fusagasugá, engaging in laboratory processes and public health surveillance. Sara holds a Specialist degree in Epidemiology from Fundación Universitaria Juan N Corpas and a degree in Bacteriology and Clinical Laboratory from Universidad Colegio Mayor de Cundinamarca.
