Blake Sorour CA(SA) has diverse work experience in risk advisory, risk and compliance management, and audit. Blake is currently serving as the Director of Risk Advisory - Investments at Colonial First State since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Deputy Head of Risk & Compliance and Senior Manager at Pendal Group from January 2019 to March 2022. Before joining Pendal Group, Blake held various roles at BT Financial Group from October 2016 to January 2019, including Manager of Risk and Compliance - Investments and Investments Risk and Compliance Adviser. Blake also worked as an Associate in Hedge Fund Operational Due Diligence at HSBC Alternative Investments Limited from September 2013 to August 2016. Blake began their career as an Audit Senior at Deloitte & Touché Dubai, where they worked from January 2010 to March 2013. Throughout their career, Blake has demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, due diligence, audit processes, and compliance management.

Blake Sorour CA(SA) pursued a short course on Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Decentralised Applications, and Exchanges at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2021. Prior to that, they passed Level 1 of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) exam in 2015. Blake holds a degree as a Chartered Accountant (SA) from the South African Institute for Chartered Accountants (SAICA) in 2013. Blake completed their B Com Honours in Accounting from Nelson Mandela University between 2006 and 2009. Blake completed their high school education at Grey High School from 1994 to 2005.
