Brian Weiner

Brian Weiner is the President of The Philadelphia Independence Awards, a position held since June 2017, where responsibilities include recruiting professional artists and organizing theatrical education events. Since August 2004, Brian has served as an English and Theatre Teacher in Colonial School District, focusing on 11th and 12th grade English and developing a Contemporary Literature Curriculum. Additional roles include Theater Director at the Theatre Arts Center and Central Bucks School District, Program Director for The Greater Philadelphia Cappies, and Curriculum Writer for Shmoop. Brian's background in casting includes experience with various production companies and Theatre Horizon. Brian holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from The College of New Jersey and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Muhlenberg College.
