Dr. Sumita Furlong

Dr. Sumita Furlong's work experience includes serving as the Director of IDEA (Inclusion Diversity Equity and Accountability) at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation since 2023. Prior to that, they were a Special Advisor for Diversity, Inclusion, and Strategic Initiatives to the Vice Chancellor at UC Irvine from 2017 to 2022. From 2013 to 2017, they worked as the Chief Diversity & Global Pluralism Program Officer at the Great Lakes Colleges Association (GLCA). Before that, they served as the Executive Director of the NCORE-National Conference on Race & Ethnicity in American Higher Education at the University of Oklahoma from 2009 to 2013.

Dr. Sumita Furlong holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Higher Education Administration, Policy Analysis & Assessment from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, as per their education history.
