Sophia Hart

Sophia Hart has a diverse work experience in several industries. Sophia worked at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation from 1994 to 2020, where they held various roles including Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations and Director of Development Communications. At the Foundation, they directed fundraising efforts, assisted with campaign strategy, and prepared written materials for the president's office and the Development division.

In addition, Sophia worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Government at William & Mary in 1995. Sophia also served as a Research Assistant/Consultant at the American Enterprise Institute in 1995-1996, where they conducted research in Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

Prior to that, Sophia had a career in the U.S. Department of State's Foreign Service from 1985 to 1993, serving in American embassies in Moscow and Beijing, as well as various functional and geographic desks in Washington, D.C. Sophia also worked as a Consultant at Delphi International Services in 1992, where they designed USIA's international visitors program proposals and coordinated training programs.

Sophia Hart earned a Diploma from The Shipley School between 1964 and 1977. Sophia then pursued a BA degree in International Affairs and French at Sweet Briar College from 1977 to 1981. Later, they attended the University of Virginia from 1981 to 1992, where they obtained an MA and a PhD in Foreign Affairs with a focus on East Asia.
