Alexis Whitham (Lex)

Director Of Communications, Education & Advocacy at Colorado Coalition for the Homeless

Alexis (Lex) Whitham has a diverse work experience in various communication and advocacy roles. Alexis (Lex) is currently the Director of Communications, Education & Advocacy at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Communications and Grants Administration at the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC), where they managed all organizational communications strategies and content. Alexis (Lex) also oversaw a brand launch and managed relationships with designers and translators. Additionally, they served as the Grants and Communications Manager at LCFC, where they designed and administered grant processes, wrote grant applications and reports, and managed communication strategies.

Lex also has experience in film-related organizations, including being the Director of Distribution & Educational Programming at Frameline, where they directed a grant-funded program and managed film distribution, and as a Guest Relations Manager at the Denver Film Society. Alexis (Lex) has also been involved in the programming and project management of the Oakland Underground Film Festival and held roles in marketing and publications at the Reeling Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival. Prior to their film-related roles, they worked as a General Manager at Rialto Cinemas Cerrito. Alexis (Lex) also had a brief experience as a Deputy Field Organizer for Obama for America.

Alexis (Lex) Whitham attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies.
