Allen Bertsche has extensive experience in the field of education. Allen is currently the Director of Global Education at Colorado College, a position they have held since 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Augustana College for over two decades, where they held various roles including Director of International & Off-Campus Programs and Professor in the Department of Spanish. Allen also served as a Teaching Assistant and Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1989 to 1996.
Allen Bertsche holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Spanish and Iberian Studies, as well as Latin American Studies from Indiana University Bloomington, completed between 1986 and 1989. Allen then pursued further education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Spanish and Iberian Studies from 1989 to 1991. Subsequently, Bertsche obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Spanish and Iberian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, completing their studies between 1991 and 1996. In 2021, they received a Professional Certification in Education Abroad from The Forum on Education Abroad.
