Dr. Alex Carter

Dr. Alex Carter is an accomplished educational leader currently serving as the Vice President of Implementation at The Colorado Education Initiative since March 2016, where responsibility includes overseeing approximately $3 million in program implementation annually and cultivating partnerships to enhance educational improvement in Colorado. Prior to this role, Dr. Carter was the Superintendent of Schools for the Montezuma-Cortez RE-1 School District from April 2012 to February 2016 and held various leadership positions in educational institutions, including Principal at Telluride High School and Brentsville District High School and Assistant Principal at Osbourn Park High School. Dr. Carter's educational background includes a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Walden University, a Master of Education in Public School Administration from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from James Madison University.
