Committed Guide at Colorado Mountain School

Eric Shaw is a dedicated outdoor professional with extensive experience in guiding, teaching, and leadership. Currently serving as a Committed Guide at Colorado Mountain School and holding the title of Certified Rock Guide with the American Mountain Guides Association, Shaw also guides for multiple organizations including Mountain Trip, Miyar Adventures, and Alpenglow Expeditions. As an Avalanche Instructor for the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education, Shaw delivers specialized education in avalanche safety. Past roles include Instructor and Guide at American Alpine Institute Ltd, where skill development was a focus, and an adjunct position at Prescott College, teaching outdoor skills such as glacier travel and rock climbing. With experience as a Program Manager and Head Guide at Alaska Crossings, Shaw managed expedition logistics and trained instructors, along with leading teams at Summit Achievement to mentor youth. Shaw is pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Denver, following a BA in Religion/Religious Studies from Hampshire College and a certificate in Outdoor Leadership from Greenfield Community College.
