IMCS Sports Official And Supervisor at Colorado School of Mines Club Sports

Tanya Best is currently a Teaching Assistant in the Chemical and Biological Engineering department at the Colorado School of Mines, where responsibilities include lesson development, grading, and providing student support. In addition, Tanya serves as an IMCS Sports Official and Supervisor for the Colorado School of Mines Club Sports, ensuring the smooth execution of intramural competitions while fostering an inclusive environment. As a NextGen Fellow at The Diabetes Link, Tanya gained insights from professionals in diabetes technology through various summits. Furthermore, during an internship at Hazen Research, Inc., Tanya contributed to the analytical department by assisting with sample intake and conducting research on copper sulfide leaching methods. Tanya is pursuing a degree in Quantitative Biosciences and Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines, with prior studies at the University of Nicosia in Science and Engineering.

Mission Statement Club Sports fulfill a very important role at the Colorado School of Mines. These groups provide a medium for students to enhance the lessons and theories learned in the classroom through real life experiences and responsibilities. The Club Sports Program complements the school's intercollegiate, intramural, physical activity and student activity club programs while offering the students opportunities to develop skills that will assist them beyond the years spent at the Colorado School of Mines. Club Sport Goals 1. To provide opportunities for growth and development for all members and constituents a. Provide intentional training and development focused on creating programs that allow members to grow both as students and individuals b. Provide necessary tools and support for students to effectively manage their individual clubs c. Provide opportunities for students to give back to their campus and local communities d. Provide balance of challenge and support as students work through the successful administration and growth of their programs e.
