John Cook is currently a Graduate Student Researcher in the Strathmann Lab at Colorado School of Mines, focusing on Hydrothermal Alkaline Treatment for media impacted by PFAS and co-contaminants. Prior to this, John served as an Environmental Engineer at GSI Environmental Inc., managing environmental consulting projects that involved permitting, compliance, and research and development related to PFAS transport and novel treatment technologies. John's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rice University and ongoing studies for a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Colorado School of Mines. Additionally, experiences as a Research Assistant at Rice University involved probabilistic modeling of water systems and the development of electroactive membranes, and an internship at Branch Civil provided exposure to civil engineering site design and construction oversight.
