Brendan Hanlon

Brendan Hanlon currently serves as the Vice President of University Operations and Chief Financial Officer at Colorado State University, a position held since August 2022. Prior to this role, Brendan spent two decades at the City and County of Denver, culminating in the role of Chief Financial Officer, where responsibility included developing fiscal management strategies and overseeing a $2B annual operating budget. Brendan also served as City Budget Director, leading a team of 25 in budget development and implementing best practices to maintain balanced budgets. Additional leadership roles included Manager of Fiscal Analysis, Budget Supervisor, and Performance Management Specialist, all focused on optimizing financial operations and facilitating public budget priorities. Brendan holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in History and Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
