Brent Smith

Brent Smith is originally from central Illinois but relocated to the Dubuque area in 2001 to work at the John Deere Dubuque Works as an Electrical Engineer. In 2014 he took his son to a Colt Cadets’ camp to learn what this drum corps thing was all about. Expecting to stand around for a few hours and watch the kids, he was surprised when invited to jump in and help the other parents cook supper for the kids. Thinking “that sounds easy enough” he jumped in and quickly learned not to carry a hot roaster full of water! Despite the rocky start, he has been helping in various capacities as a parent volunteer ever since. He has served on the Colts Parents Booster Club since 2015, taking on the role of President in 2018.
