Shonita A. began their work experience as a Payroll Supervisor at Brookdale in 2003 and continued in that role until 2006. Shonita then worked as a Payroll Supervisor at Brookdale Senior Living from 2003 to 2006. In 2007, they served as a Payroll Manager at School District U-46 before transitioning to the role of Payroll Analyst at ArcelorMittal USA from 2007 to 2010. Shonita then worked as a Payroll Specialist at ArcelorMittal from 2008 to 2016. Currently, they are the Director of Payroll at Columbia College Chicago, a position they have held since 2017.

Shonita A. attended Prairie State College from 2010 to 2011, with a focus on Business Administration and Management. Prior to that, they obtained a Certificate in Payroll from DePaul University from 2006 to 2007.
