John Macarthur

John MacArthur is a highly experienced chess trainer and educator, currently serving as a FIDE Trainer for the Federation International des Echec since November 2016, a prestigious role that reflects international recognition. John also holds the position of League Director at Society Billiards + Bar and has been a Chess Instructor at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School since September 1991, providing lessons across various grades and formats. Throughout a long-standing career since 1984, John has been involved with multiple institutions, including The Chapin School and The Spence School, focusing on afterschool programs and electives. John holds a degree in Liberal Arts from The City University of New York, completed between 1990 and 2000.
