Betsy Morais

Betsy Morais is a seasoned editorial professional currently serving as Managing Editor at Columbia Journalism Review since July 2018 and as Adjunct Faculty at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism since January 2015. Morais held the position of Senior Editor at Harper's Magazine from February 2016 to January 2018 and was part of the editorial staff at The New Yorker from April 2012 to January 2016. Prior experience includes an Editorial Fellow role at Atlantic Media Company, where responsibilities encompassed fact-checking, research, and writing online stories. Additional background includes work as a Contributing Writer/Intern at WhoRunsGov.com at The Washington Post and serving as News Editor for the Columbia Daily Spectator. Morais earned a B.A. in Anthropology and Philosophy from Columbia University between 2007 and 2011.
