Pete Vernon is a seasoned journalist and educator with notable experience at the Columbia Journalism Review as a Staff Writer and previously as a Delacorte Magazine Fellow. Vernon's reporting experience includes a fellowship at Thomson Reuters, where stories ranged from the International AIDS Conference to challenges faced by the African National Congress. Prior to journalism, Vernon served as an English and History Teacher at Maru-a-Pula School and The Hunts Point Middle School, and was a Corps Member with Teach For America. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University, a Master of Education from Lehman College, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from William & Mary.
