Noemi Sanchez

Noemi Sanchez has a diverse work experience that spans various organizations and roles. Noemi started their career in 2015 as a Fruit Sorter and Packer at Zirkle Fruit Co, where they worked until 2018. In 2016, they became a Resident Assistant at The Evergreen State College, where they provided emotional and academic support to 60 residents and organized programs related to social justice and mental health.

From 2017 to 2020, Noemi worked as a Substitute Para-educator at Yakima School District #7, primarily in elementary special education classrooms. Noemi'sresponsibilities included assisting students individually and in small groups, handling interruptions and emergencies, and maintaining professional behavior with students, parents, and school personnel.

In 2018, they had a brief stint as a Project Intern at popUPjustice.org. In 2019, Noemi interned at Columbia Legal Services as part of their Working Families Project, focusing on serving farm workers and the undocumented community. Noemi gained experience in communications, client counseling, research, and writing, as well as observing advocacy and case handling. Noemi also partnered with the Northwest Justice Project to provide resources to H-2A housing cites and inform individuals about their rights.

In 2020, Noemi became a Keep Washington Working Fellow at the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network. Noemi'srole involved advocating for immigrant rights and supporting community engagement initiatives.

Most recently, they joined Columbia Legal Services again in 2021 as an Advocacy and Community Engagement Specialist. Noemi'sspecific responsibilities in this role are not provided.

Throughout their various roles, Noemi has demonstrated strong dedication to social justice, community empowerment, and advocacy.

Noemi Sanchez attended Heritage University from 2017 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Prior to that, they studied Cultural Studies/Critical Theory and Analysis at The Evergreen State College from 2015 to 2017.
