Stewart Bankier

Stewart Bankier, AFNI, currently serves as the Director of Crewing Training at Columbia Shipmanagement since January 2024. Previously, Stewart held various leadership roles at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement from May 2013 to January 2024, including Head of Fleet Personnel Development & Compliance, where responsibilities included advising on training and crewing policy for a diverse fleet. Prior positions at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement also involved leading personnel development initiatives and managing safety and compliance for vessels. Stewart's career began in the Royal Navy, where a distinguished tenure lasted from April 1984 to February 2011, culminating in the role of Lieutenant Commander. Additionally, Stewart has experience as a director at SKB Management Ltd and as a maritime security consultant with Drum Cussac. Education was completed at Alliance Manchester Business School in 2010.
