Emma Barbarette has a diverse range of work experience. Emma started in 2020 as a Barnard Peer Tutor at Barnard College. In the same year, they took on multiple roles at Columbia Undergraduate Law Review, including being the Head of Production for the "Low of the Land" podcast and serving as a Summer Publishing Program Editor. Additionally, they were a Roundtable Contributor from September 2020 to April 2021. In 2021, they worked as a Publicity Intern at The Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the U.S. and also served as the Vice President of Risk Management for Sigma Delta Tau at Columbia University. Emma was a Campaign Intern for Tali Farhadian Weinstein for Manhattan DA from January to June 2021. In 2022, they participated in a French study abroad program at Columbia University and completed two intensive French courses at the Columbia Global Centers in Paris, France. Prior to these experiences, they were a 2020 Millennium Fellow at Millennium Campus Network and a Legal Intern at the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court.

Emma Barbarette attended Barnard College from 2019 to 2033, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in French Language and Literature. During their time at Barnard College, they also studied Political Science and Government, obtaining another Bachelor's degree in that field. In 2022, they briefly enrolled at Columbia University to pursue French Studies.
