Brian Byrne

Brian Byrne currently serves as the Director of Operations at The Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University Medical Center, a position held since July 2016, where responsibilities include planning space renovations and personnel relocations in collaboration with CUMC Facilities. Prior to this role, Brian Byrne worked at CUMC from March 2010 to July 2016 as the Facilities Engineering Manager, overseeing mechanical operations and staff training, and as the Facilities Compliance Manager, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Brian Byrne's extensive career includes over two decades with the New York City Fire Department in various ranks from firefighter to captain, as well as experience in sales management roles in the industrial chemicals and computer supplies sectors. Brian Byrne served in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman from 1976 to 1979 and holds a Master of Science in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from SUNY Oneonta.
