Christopher Ahmad has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Christopher currently holds the position of Chief of Sports Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center since 2019. Prior to that, they served as a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons starting from 2013. Christopher also worked as an Assistant Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at New York-Presbyterian Hospital since 2001.
Dr. Ahmad has extensive experience in sports medicine and has worked with professional sports teams. Christopher became the Head Team Physician for the New York Yankees in 2009, after assisting the team since 2008. Christopher also served as the Head Physician for the New York City Football Club starting from 2015.
Aside from their clinical work, Dr. Ahmad is involved in philanthropic activities. Christopher is a co-founder of Crutches 4 Kids, a not-for-profit organization that collects and distributes crutches to children in need around the world. Christopher is also a founding partner and serves as the Head Physician at Baseball Health Network since 2015.
Christopher Ahmad attended Columbia Engineering from 1986 to 1990, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Christopher then attended New York Medicine Jobs from 1990 to 1994, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in Medicine.
