Royce Chen serves as the Vice Chair of Education and Jean Sheng Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute, Columbia University Irving Medical Center since November 2023. Prior to this, Royce Chen held various roles at Columbia University Medical Center, including Residency Program Director and Associate Residency Program Director, starting in September 2014. Between July 2012 and July 2014, Royce Chen was a Vitreoretinal Fellow and Clinical Instructor at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and an Ophthalmology Resident at Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute from July 2009 to July 2012. Royce Chen began medical training as a Transitional Year Intern at St. Vincent's Hospital from June 2008 to June 2009, following a Research Fellowship at New England Eye Center, Tufts Medical Center from July 2006 to June 2007. Educational qualifications include an MD from Tufts University School of Medicine (2003-2008) and a BA in Music from Yale University (1997-2001).
