James Riel

James Riel has extensive experience in the banking and financial industry. James currently holds the position of Head of Regulatory Compliance at Column since December 2022. Prior to this, James worked at Citizens for a duration of 10 years, from 2012 to 2022. During their tenure at Citizens, they held various senior-level positions including Senior Vice President, Director of Risk from 2020 to 2022, Senior Vice President, Director of Compliance from 2017 to 2020, and Vice President, Senior Compliance Manager from 2012 to 2017. Before joining Citizens, James worked at Royal Bank of Scotland as a Vice President, Audit Manager from 2005 to 2012.

James Riel attended Merrimack College from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics. James then pursued further education at Bryant University from 2006 to 2008, where they earned an MBA in Business Administration.
