Sean Rowan

Sean Rowan has a wealth of experience in the tech industry, beginning with a Software Engineering Internship at Cisco Systems in 2013. Sean then worked as a CSE Tutor at UCSD in 2013, followed by a Software Engineering Internship at ViaSat Inc. in 2014. In 2015, they took on a role as a Machine Learning Software Engineer at Intuit, then moved up to Senior Machine Learning Engineer in the same company. In 2019, Sean joined Determined AI as a Solutions Engineer, and they currently work as a Founding Engineer at Column Tax and an AI Architect at cnvrg.io. At cnvrg.io, Sean is responsible for building and implementing the presales engagement process, as well as architecting and deploying end-to-end machine learning pipelines. At Intuit, they optimized and refactored a transaction categorization model, developed a serverless app, and architected and developed a time series forecasting pipeline.

Sean Rowan started their educational journey in 2009 at California Lutheran University. The following year they attended Moorpark College. Sean then transferred to UC San Diego in 2011, where they received their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in 2015. In 2017, they returned to UC San Diego to pursue a Master's Degree in Data Science and Engineering, which they received in 2019. Prior to this, they attended Santa Ynez Valley Union High School. In 2020, Sean obtained a Triplebyte Certified Machine Learning Engineer certification from Triplebyte.
