Tara Engel

Tara Engel is the Director of Development & Grants at Combat Connect. Prior to this, they were with Cox Media Group Ohio where they served as the Marketing Communications and Public Relations Specialist. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing trade contracts and sponsorships, preparing press releases and internal communications, managing the radio station's Street Team, and assisting with promotions, events, and related marketing initiatives. Tara also has experience as a Real Estate Plus Editor, Photographer, and Technical Writer with Cox Media Group Ohio, where they oversaw weekly production and layout for Springfield Real Estate Plus, served as writer/photographer for the Wright Patterson Air Force Base newspaper, The Skywrighter, and worked on numerous special sections and projects including sponsored content/native advertising and a variety of internal promotions. Most recently, Tara served as the V.P. of Training & Strategic Development at NACOP and the Interim President of the American Police Hall of Fame from March 2019 to January 2022.

Tara Engel has a certification from the United States Concealed Carry Association as a Training Counselor. Tara also has a certification from Fred Pryor/Career Tracks in Digital Marketing Course. In addition, they are certified by the National Rifle Association as a Certified Basic Pistol Instructor, Certified Basic Rifle Instructor, and Certified Basic Shotgun Instructor. Tara is also a Certified Range Officer and has completed the Refuse To Be A Victim course. Finally, they are certified as a Glock Armorer by Glock firearms.
