Benjamin Crutchley is an experienced optical engineer with a robust background in brain-computer interfacing, NIR imaging, and measurement automation. Currently serving as the Optical Engineering Lead at CoMind since June 2021, Benjamin has previously held senior roles at i3D robotics, where responsibilities included managing EU and UK project schedules and developing advanced 3D vision systems. Benjamin's expertise extends to high-temperature optical systems at IS-Instruments Ltd, where development work included laser triangulation and 3D stereo camera systems. Academic contributions include a visiting researcher position at The University of Sheffield focused on automated additive manufacturing and post-doctorate research at the University of Surrey on junction temperature measurement systems. Benjamin holds a Ph.D. from the University of Surrey, focusing on efficiency limitations of GaN-based devices, and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Nottingham.
