Vice President, Customer Operations – EMEA & APAC at Command Alkon

Andrew Whitehouse-James has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Andrew started their career as a Management Trainee at Tarmac in 1989 and worked there until 1996, during which they also served as a Marketing & Business Analyst. Following this, they worked as a Territory Sales Representative at Hanson - ARC (Central) Ltd from 1996 to 1997.

In 1997, Andrew joined Midland Quarry Products as a Territory Sales Representative and later became the Customer Services Manager, overseeing the Transport and Logistics division, as well as managing outsourced IT and Credit Services. Andrew worked in this role until 2003 when they transitioned to Hanson as a Front Office Delivery Manager until 2007.

Andrew then joined Command Alkon in 2007 and held various roles such as Project/Programme Manager, Implementation Manager-EMEA and Asia, and Programme Manager for the implementation of new systems in Italy and Greece. Andrew'sresponsibilities included managing multiple projects, resource allocation, budgeting/forecasting, and ensuring customer satisfaction. From 2013 to 2016, they served as a Programme Manager at Command Alkon.

In 2019, they were promoted to the role of Director of Operations at Command Alkon, with responsibilities for all EMEA and Asia activities and managing a team of 35 staff across 4 offices. Andrew is experienced in managing customer relationships at a senior executive level.

Andrew Whitehouse-James' education history includes a Certificate in Management from The Open University in 1997, a BEng in Mineral processing and Pavement Engineering from Leeds Beckett University from 1991 to 1994, and a Diploma in Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering from Halesowen College from 1989 to 1991. Beyond their formal education, they also obtained a certification in Microsoft Power Apps Essential Training: Beyond the Basics from LinkedIn in 2020.
