Theresa Wilson has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of finance and budget management. Theresa is currently serving as the Director of Finance at Commerce City, a position they have held since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Deputy Finance Director at Commerce City from January 2020 to July 2023.

Before joining Commerce City, Theresa worked as the Budget Manager at the City of Loveland from April 2016 to January 2020. Theresa also held the role of Budget Supervisor/Specialist at Adams County Government from September 2014 to April 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Financial Management Specialist at the City and County of Denver's Budget and Management Office in 2014.

Theresa's previous experience includes being a Budget Director at Adams 12 Five Star Schools from July 2013 to June 2014. Theresa also worked as a Financial Management Specialist/Senior Financial Management Analyst at the City and County of Denver's Budget and Management Office from May 2008 to July 2013.

Earlier in their career, Theresa was a Senior Budget and Financial Analyst at the City and County of Broomfield's Finance Department from February 2006 to May 2008. Prior to that, they held the position of Administrative Analyst in the same department from May 2001 to February 2006.

Theresa's professional journey began as a Management Intern at the City of Westminster's City Manager's Office from June 1997 to May 1999. Overall, they have demonstrated expertise in financial management, budgeting, and leadership roles throughout their career.

Theresa Wilson, MPA, CPFO, received their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and History from The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 1993 to 1997. Theresa then pursued further education and completed their Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Public Administration and Public Finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 1997 to 1999. Additionally, in December 2008, they obtained a certification as a Certified Public Finance Officer from the Government Finance Officers Association.
