Raoul Pillard is a seasoned quantitative developer with a strong background in data science and financial engineering. Currently employed at Kiwi Wealth since June 2022, Raoul previously served as a data scientist at Montoux, where contributions were made to enhance insights for large life insurance companies in the US and APAC regions. Prior to that, Raoul worked as a pricing engineer and quantitative developer at DeriveXperts, focusing on derivative valuations before the company's acquisition by IHS Markit. Initial experience includes a role as a front office consultant at Murex, handling interest rate derivatives and providing client support. Raoul started in the field as a development intern at DeriveXperts, contributing to financial product monitoring applications. Raoul holds a master's degree in mathematics, finance, and computer science from the National School of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics of Grenoble.

The Commerce Commission is New Zealand’s competition, consumer and regulatory agency. We play a crucial role in ensuring New Zealand’s markets are competitive, consumers are well informed and protected, and sectors with little or no competition are appropriately regulated. The Commission is an independent Crown entity responsible for enforcing laws relating to competition, fair trading, and consumer credit contracts. We also have regulatory responsibilities in the electricity lines, gas pipelines, telecommunications, dairy and airport sectors. Our vision is that New Zealanders are better off because markets work well and consumers and businesses are confident market participants.
