Carla Brooks has a wealth of experience in various roles and industries. Carla started their career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in 1978, where they served as the Manager of Applications Processing for seven years. Carla then joined KPMG as a Senior Manager in 1985 and worked there for 12 years. In 1997, Carla moved to California Federal Bank, FSB, where they held the position of First Vice President until 2002. Following that, they became a Senior Managing Director at Commerce Street Investment Management, LLC, a role they still hold. Carla has also served on the board of directors for multiple banks, including Gold Coast Bank - NY from 2016 to 2020, Lakeside Bank from 2020 to 2022, and Oakwood Bank starting in 2021.
Carla Brooks earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from Coe College in 1978. Carla then pursued a Masters of Science in Finance at The University of Texas at Dallas from 1979 to 1982. In 1974, they briefly attended Colorado State University, focusing on Business. Additionally, Carla has obtained various certifications in finance and securities through institutions such as the Association of Insolvency and Reorganization Accountants and FINRA.
