Oleksandr Demchyk has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. From 2004 to 2005, they worked at CAS "Ista-Centre" as an IT-engineer and reclamation engineer. In 2005, they joined the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, where they held positions such as Principal Specialist of Department for Higher Education and Science, Vice Head of The Board for Science, Higher and Vocational Education, and Director of the Department for Education and Science. In 2015, they worked as an Adviser to the Mayor of Dnipropetrovsk City at The Dnipropetrovsk City Council. From 2015 to 2018, they held various roles at CommerceGate, including Fraud Monitoring Manager, Fraud Monitoring & Customer Support Team Leader, and eventually became the Head of Risk Management.
Oleksandr Demchyk attended the University of Colorado Boulder in 2019, where they studied Business Analytics for a brief period without completing a degree. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2006, they pursued a PhD in Philosophy at Dnipropetrovsk National University. Before their PhD studies, they obtained a Specialist degree in Thermal Physics Engineering from Dnipropetrovsk National University, where they studied from 1998 to 2003.
In addition to their formal education, Oleksandr Demchyk has also obtained several certifications. Oleksandr completed the course "Meaningful Predictive Modeling" at the University of California San Diego in November 2020. In August 2020, they earned certifications in "Design Thinking and Predictive Analytics for Data Products" from UC San Diego. Prior to their university studies, in August 2019, they completed the course "Communicating Business Analytics Results" at the University of Colorado Boulder. Additionally, in July 2019, they obtained certifications in "Business Analytics for Decision Making" and "Predictive Modeling and Analytics" from the same institution. Other certifications include "Portfolio and Risk Management" from the University of Geneva in January 2018 and "Modeling Risk and Realities" from the University of Pennsylvania in March 2017.
