Chris Bernardo

Chris Bernardo has a diverse work experience in the field of community revitalization and place management. Chris started their career at The Community Advocates in 1995, where they held the positions of Associate and Senior Project Manager until 2003. From 2003 to 2007, they worked as an Operations Manager at The Journal Square Restoration Corporation. In 2006, Chris founded their own firm called Commercial District Services (CDS), which initially focused on downtown revitalization and organizing special assessment districts. CDS has since grown to over one hundred employees and now provides a comprehensive suite of services for business improvement districts, private property owner associations, and municipalities.

Chris Bernardo completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Montclair State University from 1992 to 1996. In 2010, they pursued a course in Real Estate-Commercial Property Management at New York University. Additionally, they hold a certification as a New York City F04 Licensed Fire Guard from the New York City Fire Department.
