Carlos J. Santos

Carlos J. Santos, CPA, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the finance and accounting industry. Carlos J.'smost recent position was as Vice President of Credit Risk at Commercial Equipment Finance, Inc. starting in October 2023. Before that, they served as Senior Director of Planning & Audit at METRO PAVIA CLINIC from April 2022 to September 2023. Carlos J. also held multiple positions at Popular, including Assistant Vice President in both the Auto Wholesale and Corporate Banking divisions from June 2021 to April 2022 and from August 2018 to June 2021, respectively. Prior to that, Carlos worked at FirstBank as a Credit and Business Relationship Officer from June 2016 to August 2018 and as a Credit Officer in Corporate Banking from November 2014 to June 2016. Carlos J. began their career at Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, where they worked as a Financial Analyst in the Corporate Credit Division from May 2013 to November 2014, as well as in the Special Loan Department and as an Auditor in the Special Loans Department from January 2012 to May 2013 and from December 2009 to January 2012, respectively. Carlos also gained audit experience at DE ANGEL & COMPANIA, CPA, LLC as a Senior Auditor from August 2008 to December 2009, and at Jose E. Rosario & Co., CPA PSC, where they served as a Senior Auditor from January 2007 to August 2008.

Carlos J. Santos, CPA holds an Executive Certificate in Mergers & Acquisitions from Columbia Business School, obtained in 2019. Carlos J. also holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, obtained from 2007 to 2011, as well as a B.B.A. in Accounting/Finance from the same university, obtained from 1999 to 2004. In addition to these degrees, Carlos has obtained several certifications, including Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) and Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), obtained in 2023 and 2022 respectively. Carlos J. also holds certifications in Operational Excellence and Business of Health Care from the HFMA, obtained in 2022. Carlos is also a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through NASBA in 2006.
