Jorge Daniel Taillant

Jorge Daniel Taillant serves as the Executive Director of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation since August 2022, following a diverse career focused on environmental justice and climate policy. Prior roles include Climate Justice Policy Advisor at the Institute for Governance & Sustainable Development, where strategies for mitigating greenhouse gases were developed, and Advisor at the Climate & Clean Air Coalition, providing guidance on collective climate action across multiple sectors. Co-founding the Center for Human Rights & Environment in 1999 allowed for significant contributions to merging human rights with environmental advocacy. Experiences also include leadership roles in sustainable development consulting, advising at the Global Reporting Initiative on sustainability standards, and consultancy across various esteemed organizations, such as The World Bank and the European Union. Academic credentials encompass a Master’s in Economics/Latin American Studies from Georgetown University and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science/French and International Relations from the University of California, Berkeley, and Sciences Po Lyon, respectively.
