Vashti Smith has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Smith has held various roles in different organizations, including being a Research Fellow at Common Cause, a Fellow at Democracy North Carolina and Ignite NC, and a Summer Intern at the U.S. House of Representatives. Currently, Smith works as the HBCU Program Manager and College Coordinator at Common Cause. Prior to that, Smith was a Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent at the U.S. House of Representatives and an Executive Assistant at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. Additionally, Smith served as a Fellow at the Black Women's Roundtable.
