Gabriela Nakashima is an experienced professional currently serving as Grants Coordinator at Common Counsel Foundation since April 2019, having previously held the positions of Grants Associate and Program Assistant within the organization. Nakashima is also an active Steering Committee Member for the Crystal City Pilgrimage Committee, contributing to both the Fundraising and Program & Education Committees. A former intern for Campaign for Justice: Redress NOW for Japanese Latin Americans! and the Japanese Peruvian Oral History Project, Gabriela has focused on community engagement and historical research related to Japanese Latin American experiences. Educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Anthropology with a focus on Ethnic Studies from Lewis & Clark College, attended from 2014 to 2018. Additionally, Nakashima has volunteered with various organizations, demonstrating a commitment to social justice and community service.
