Common Ground
Katie Kuschel, LPC, ATR-BC is an experienced art therapist currently working at Common Ground since February 2022, providing group and individual therapy in a crisis residential setting. Previous roles include child and adolescent therapist at Asian Human Services, Inc., where Katie offered therapy to underserved communities in Chicago, and clinical supervisor at NorthPointe Resources, Inc., overseeing services for individuals with substance use and mental health diagnoses. Early career experiences involved counseling at Gateway Foundation and as a community art facilitator with The Art Experience, Inc. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Art Therapy from Adler University, along with relevant certifications and degrees in psychology and fine arts.
