Mary Aviles

Mary Aviles Baez is an accomplished professional in content management and localization, currently serving as the Spanish Content Manager and Spanish Language Editor at Common Sense Media since June 2022. With extensive experience at prominent companies such as Google, where roles included GTV Latam Project Manager and Spanish Content Editor, Mary has demonstrated expertise in developing content strategies, localization processes, and curating Spanish language materials. Previous positions at PayPal, Apple, and as Latin America Editor for Global Voices Online further highlight skills in project management, translation support, and cultural consultation. Mary co-founded Venezuela Decoded, recognized for innovation in journalism, and contributed to the development of a mobile news aggregation platform during the John S. Knight Fellowship at Stanford University. Education includes a degree from Stanford University as a John S. Knight Fellow and advanced studies in Mass Communications from NYU and Florida International University.
