Paulo da Costa has a diverse range of work experience in the healthcare industry. Paulo started their career as a Senior Associate at Triage Consulting Group, where they led strategic advisory efforts and helped identify revenue cycle inefficiencies for several hospitals and health systems. Paulo then joined McKesson as an MBA Intern, contributing to financial analysis and budgeting processes for the US Pharma Distribution enterprise.
Paulo later worked at Kantar Health as a Life Sciences Management Consultant, where they managed strategy engagements for biopharmaceutical clients and conducted market research projects. Paulo then moved to HealthMine Inc., where they served as the Director of Strategy and Business Development, establishing strategic partnerships and leading product strategy for a population health management platform.
In 2013, Paulo joined Vantage Oncology as the Vice President of Strategy and Operations, launching a line of business focused on value-based oncology care and negotiating alternative risk models with managed care counterparts. Paulo then worked at McKesson again, this time as the National Director of Strategy and Operations for Value-Based Specialty Care.
Paulo's career continued to progress as they joined Providence Health & Services as the Executive Director of Strategy and Business Development. In this role, they led strategy formulation and implementation across multiple medical center campuses, overseeing the growth of the ambulatory network and executing ambulatory surgery center deals.
Prior to their current role as the Co-Founder & COO of Commons Clinic, Paulo worked at Ora Oncology as the Head of Strategy and Partnerships. Here, they co-led the build-out of a value-based care oncology delivery network, overseeing provider network negotiations and managing in-market general managers.
Throughout their career, Paulo has demonstrated expertise in strategy, business development, and value-based care. Paulo has experience in various areas of healthcare, including musculoskeletal surgical care, oncology, orthopedics, and population health management.
Paulo da Costa's education history includes earning a high school diploma from Chadwick School in Palos Verdes Peninsula, Los Angeles. Paulo then went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree at Cornell University, with a field of study in Ithaca, NY. Following this, Paulo pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
