Veronique Hionis

Veronique Hionis has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Veronique began their career at the University of Virginia, where they worked as a Teaching Assistant and then as a Research Assistant in the Emergency Department. Veronique then moved on to Virginia Commonwealth University, where they worked as a Research Assistant in the Cardiovascular Research Group, performing animal microsurgeries and studying the effects of hemoglobin-based oxygen carriers.

After that, Hionis joined Diamond Springs Internal Medicine, where they completed a Longitudinal Generalist Mentorship, conducting full history and physical examinations on patients and implementing a pharmaceutical monitoring program.

Veronique then worked at Old Dominion University as a Research Assistant in the Behavioral and Alcohol Related Studies Lab, analyzing the association between psychological distress and alcohol outcomes. Veronique also contributed to manuscript development and implemented a laboratory training program.

Hionis then transitioned to the private sector, joining Lesner Inn as a Manager of Conferences and Events, responsible for delivering professional medical conferences and large private events. Veronique hired and trained staff and conducted performance reviews.

Veronique also served as the Director of the MA D-SNP Primary Care Sites Delegation Program, where they developed provider engagement strategies and supervised reports. Additionally, they were the Manager of the SCO Delegated Sites Program, focusing on provider engagement and network strategy. Veronique has also worked in various clinical roles at Commonwealth Care Alliance.

Veronique Hionis holds a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in Health Law, Bioethics, and Human Rights from Boston University School of Public Health. Prior to their master's degree, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Physiology, General from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Veronique completed their undergraduate education at the University of Virginia, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in French Language and Literature. Veronique also has certifications in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and CPR, First Aid, and AED Provider from the Red Cross.
