Kurt Umthum

Kurt Umthum has a strong work history in the construction industry. Kurt is currently employed by Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest as an Assistant Project Manager, a role they have held since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Project Engineer at the same company from March 2020 to November 2021.

Before joining Commonwealth Electric, Kurt was a Project Engineer at Koester Construction Company, Inc. from October 2017 to January 2020. Kurt also served as a Project Manager/ Estimator at RYAN'S ELECTRICAL SERVICES, LLC from October 2011 to July 2017, and at IES from December 2003 to September 2011.

In addition to their project management roles, Kurt has experience as a Project Manager at The Skold Companies from 2002 to 2003, and as a Small Project Supervisor/ Carpenter at Prairie Construction Company from June 1989 to December 2001.

Kurt Umthum pursued their education in a systematic manner, focusing on both academic and vocational fields. Kurt first attended Waterloo West High School from 1991 to 1994, where they completed their general studies. Following this, Kurt enrolled at Hawkeye Community College, where they pursued an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies from 1996 to 1998. Building upon their foundation, Kurt then studied Construction Management at the University of Northern Iowa from 1997 to 2001, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
