Ruben Rui Diaz-Pacheco

Ruben Rui Diaz-Pacheco is a Lead R&D Test Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems since October 2020, specializing in the development of compact fusion reactors utilizing high temperature superconductors. Previous roles include Senior and Superconductor Test Engineer at the same company, and Laboratory Manager at the Center for Neural Science at New York University, where a machine shop was established to design and prototype prosthetics for animal research. Earlier experience includes work as a Junior Laboratory Associate at the Center for Neural Science and as an Undergraduate Researcher at Columbia University Plasma Physics Laboratory Proto-CIRCUS, focusing on the enhancement of stellarator prototypes and the mathematical modeling of high voltage electrodes for Bose-Einstein condensate research. Ruben holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics and Mathematics from Columbia University and an IB Diploma from El Dorado High School.
